Welcome To The WoodRock Newsdesk Browse here for news & info about our troupe. Phew How Hot Was That?? On the 9th June we were invited over to Barnburgh to their local Carnival. It was an absolute scorcher of a day totally unbelievable as the week before we were drowned rats!! We put on 2 Displays at 2:30 & 3:30 it went down very well and everyone cheered and clapped. A big thanks to the locals for their support, there just wasn't enough cold drinks to go round lol.
We Got Soaked!! The May Bank Holiday let us down again uurrrggghhh!! we got totally wet through but we all carried on with our display routines as normal and then ran off to dry out lol. This was at the Woodlands May Festival 27th & 28th May. but all in all it was a good turnout and we all enjoyed it. Day 2 we ended up performing inside All Saints Church, felt a bit strange but ar least we were dry hee hee.
WOW! What About That Then!!
We entered our 1st ever competition on Sunday 22nd April at Colne Valley Leisure Centre. Everyone was so nervous and excited at the same time. it was a very long day and everyone was getting in last minute practices and guess what?? We came 3rd in the junior poms!!Absolutley amazing!! everyone was so pleased, Parents & Troupe Members alike shed a tear or two, what a fantastic day. Not only that SHANNON MARSHALL Won a medal in 1st place for best Junior Mascot And.............. STEPH HUSBAND Won a medal in 4th place for best Junior Leader OUTSTANDING!!

Tuesday 10th April, We are holding a fashion show and miniature display at the Community Centre to help fund raise. The clothes are from the label "Weekends" and are new ex-demo. They can be purchased at the event and will be sold well below RRP. The event is open to the public, everyone welcome. Doors open 4pm. Entry costs just 50p. Refreshments are available and raffle draw.
On Saturday 17th February, We held a fundraising table top sale at the local community centre. There wasn't many shoppers that day and we raised just over £12, Hey it all helps!
The Copper Pot competition has ended and with your help we raised £63.51 in Coppers! Thank you so much for you support!
At the Woodlands May Festival in 2006, We held a Fund Raising stall selling Bric-A-Brac, Dress jewellry, Confectionary etc. Also we held a Balloon Race. We had a very successful Fund Raising Event and would you believe it, the winning Balloon was found in Holland!!
Not long after we started our Group in January 2006, we ran a competition for our Members to design the Troupe's Logo(Top Left)
After careful consideration and Committee voting we decided on a winner! Thanks to Steph Husband who won the competition, our Logo is situated on all our letters & Documents and soon will be embroidered on our Jackets. Well done Steph!!

- Books Are Now Open Our books are now open for recruiting new members, anyone wishing to join, just pop along with your birth certificate or passport and complete a membership form. see you soon!!
- Batons We have some new batons for sale various sizes all batons £17.50 each while stocks last.
- The Committee wants to thank everyone who helped with the uniforms and making us look good. A big shout out to Donna, Tina (Donna's Mom), Sandra, Sarah, Linda (Sarah's Mom) Amy (Joyce's Friend) Sharon and everyone else who helped with making, cutting, sewing etc. We appreciate everything you have done in the short time we had. Got there in the end lol :-)
